1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Prompt Arena ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Prompt Arena is a competitive platform where developers battle by prompting AI coding assistants to build projects from Product Requirements Documents (PRDs). The Service includes the website, CLI tools, battle system, leaderboard, and related features.

3. Accounts

You must sign in with a valid GitHub account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Submit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Manipulate battle results, scores, or leaderboard rankings through automated means or exploits
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or gain unfair advantage
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of code and content you create during battles. By submitting content to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute your submissions for the purposes of operating the Service (e.g., session replays, leaderboard display).

Our Content

The Service, including its design, branding, PRDs, and scoring systems, is owned by Prompt Arena and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

6. Payments & Subscriptions

Certain features require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. Payments are processed by Stripe and subject to their terms.

We may change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. AI tools used during battles are third-party products and we make no warranties regarding their output or availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prompt Arena and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill arising out of your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in Travis County, Texas.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
